Message from Bishop Kevin Vann regarding Coronavirus

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM FR. EUGENE LEE REGARDING CORONAVIRUS REGULATIONS

Because of the concerns surrounding the coronavirus pandemic, and in keeping with guidelines and regulations released by the Diocese of Orange, the following mandates will apply here at KMCC immediately:

1.  There will be no meetings, gatherings, ministries and events to take place here at KMCC until further notice.

2.  All Masses will continue as normal.  However, we will assign each district to attend a particular Sunday Mass time so that we can have less people at each Mass allowing for greater distance between parishioners.  Please see below for when your district is asked to come to Sunday Mass.

3.  Very soon, we will be updating our parish website to be the centerpiece to keep our parish spiritually focused and to help remain prayerfully united.  Please refer to www.kmccoc.org often.

4.  EVERYONE, I implore you to remain united in prayer.  I am asking everybody to follow these parish commitments:
a) DAILY at 9:00 PM — Offer either the Divine Mercy Chaplet or offer the Lord’s Prayer, Hail Mary, and Glory Be. AND offer the Prayer for an end to sickness which is available on the KMCC website.

b) EVERY FRIDAY at 9:00 PM —  Join livestream for Stations of the Cross.  Go to kmccoc.org to access livestream.

c) EUCHARISTIC ADORATION.  We will have daily Eucharistic adoration to sincerely pray for an end to this crisis and return to a normal way of life.  The schedule is as follows:
Sunday 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Monday 9:30 am – 12:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Tuesday 9:30 am – 12:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Friday 9:30 am – 12:00 pm

5. Please refer to separate page regarding specific regulations and precautions we must take to prevent the spread of this virus, such as washing hands, and remaining home if sick, etc. which is available on our website and will be distributed through our weekly bulletin.

6.  Special note to all who are elderly and have weakened health:  There is no obligation for you to attend any Mass and it may be better for you not to come during this time.

7.  For all others this is the note from our Bishop:
Until further notice, the Diocesan Bishop hereby dispenses from the obligation to participate in Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation (cf. canons 85, 87 §1, 90 §1 and 1247 of the 1983 Code of Canon Law) those faithful who, out of legitimate concern for their health and/or the health of others, wish to avoid crowded areas. Such faithful should avail themselves of a livestreamed service which will be at the KMCC website, www.kmccoc.org, at 9:30 am in Korean and 11:30 am in English.

8.  Sunday Mass assignments by district.  We ask all districts to attend Sunday Mass according to this schedule:
Saturday 6:30PM District 1 and 4
Sunday 7:30AM District 3 and 5
Sunday 9:30AM District 2 and 6
Sunday 11:30AM English community and parents of young students
* If you cannot come at the assigned time, that is no problem, please come when you can.

9.  CONFESSION:  Because our penance service has been cancelled, I will make myself available for confessions from March 29 –  April 4, ALL DAY, from 9:30 am to 9:00 PM.  Please come ANYTIME you wish and I will hear your confession.

10.  Again, I cannot implore all parishioners enough to please pray during this time and please let us stay committed to our WHOLE PARISH PRAYER COMMITMENTS.

PRAYER FOR THE END OF THE CORONAVIRUS

Holy Virgin of Guadalupe, Queen of the Angels and Mother of the Americas.

We fly to you today as your beloved children.
We ask you to intercede for us with your Son, as you did at the wedding in Cana.

Pray for us, loving Mother,
and gain for our nation and world,
and for all our families and loved ones,
the protection of your holy angels,
that we may be spared the worst of this illness.

For those already afflicted,
we ask you to obtain the grace of healing and deliverance.
Hear the cries of those who are vulnerable and fearful,
wipe away their tears and help them to trust.

In this time of trial and testing,
teach all of us in the Church to love one another and to be patient and kind.
Help us to bring the peace of Jesus to our land and to our hearts.

We come to you with confidence,
knowing that you truly are our compassionate mother,
health of the sick and cause of our joy.

Shelter us under the mantle of your protection,
keep us in the embrace of your arms,
help us always to know the love of your Son, Jesus. Amen.
